May 2026 Edition - Lincolnshire Landlord Newsletter

The Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet

You now have only 5 daysleft to issue the Information Sheet before 31.05.26

You will no doubt be aware from previous communications that landlords who have existing tenancies that started before 1 May 2026 and already have a written record of the tenancy terms, need to send their tenants the Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026. This explains how the tenancy may have been affected by the reforms. It has been published online and is available for download.

Landlords have until 31 May 2026 to send this to all their tenants, either electronically as an attachment or on paper, or they will face a fine of up to £7,000.

Easy Read Private Renting Guides

The Government have published three Easy Read guides to private renting to support tenants with learning difficulties.

These guides are structured according to a renter’s journey through a tenancy, providing guidance for before they start a tenancy, during a tenancy, and when they or their landlord want to end a tenancy.  They can be found on GOV.UK or via the links below:

Guide 1 – Before starting a tenancy

Guide 2 – During your tenancy

Guide 3 – When you or your landlord want to end your tenancy
