HHSRS was developed as a component of the Housing Act 2004 to replace the Fitness Standard. If you are a private sector housing practitioner it is likely that you will be required to apply HHSRS in your everyday role. An online version of this course is now available via the Zoom Platform. Who Should attend?People who need to assess properties according to the HHSRS, housing managers who need to learn how the HHSRS may change their property ratings and how to prioritise failings, managers who need to supervise staff who are assessing properties. The course will help organisations come to terms with the practical application and implications of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). By the end of this course, participants will understand the principles behind the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and will understand how to link deficiencies, hazards and the likelihood of harms. This course provides evidence that a delegate has attended training and has demonstrated an acceptable understanding of HHSRS through their submitted assignment and their participation in course discussions. This course incorporates an assessment that must be completed between day one and two of the course. There is a break of at least 20 days between Session 2 and Session 3. Session 3: 9.30am - 1.00pm The second day of the training concentrates mainly on reports given by delegates on their assessments and provides the opportunity for feedback and discussion. Training for Local Authority Officers, Housing Association staff & Other Housing Professionals This course will benefit anyone who has completed the HHSRS Core Competency Core (2day) within the last 5 years but has not been using it regularly The Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) was developed as a component of the Housing Act 2004 to replace the Fitness Standard. It has been in force since 2006 but has been given more bite due to the introduction of the Housing (Fitness for Habitation) Act 2018. Who should attend? Colleagues and their managers who either need to assess properties, or who visit them as part of their role to help them identify defects and hazards that may exist in the home. Registered Providers use the course to help minimise or prevent risks and subsequent claims from tenants. The course will help organisations come to terms with the practical application and implications of the Housing (Fitness for Habitation) Act 2018 and learn how it is interlinked with HHSRS. By the end of this course, participants will understand the principles behind the Housing Health and Safety Rating System and will understand how to identify deficiencies and defects that could cause harm to the occupants.
