Course Content:
This course covers the principles of the HHSRS, how to link deficiencies, hazards and the likelihood of harm using practical exercises. Delegates will complete individual assessments for review by the Trainer, and in the last session present their assessments to the group for open discussion*.
*Please note delegates will need to allocate sufficient time between sessions to complete their individual assessments and submit these for marking – these are due within 10 working days of the task being set by the Trainer. (This is after the second session for virtual delivery and first session for face to face delivery.) Full details and timelines will be provided to delegates within the booking confirmation email.
Learning Outcomes:
Understand and describe the Housing Health and Safety Rating System
Identify the 29 hazards and classes of harm
Inspect a property and identify evident deficiencies
Evaluate the hazards created by evident deficiencies
Assess the risks in relation to the people exposed to them
Score the hazards based on the inspection evidence
Complete all sections of a HHSRS scoring sheet
Certification: Attendance, completion of individual assessments and presentation within the session
